The logo for this page is still
the first version of this costume, I didn't feel like changing it.
:-)

I'll be blunt: I am not  at all happy with how this costume first turned out. There was  just too much red. When I got it finished on Tuesday the 15th (Ides of March,  haha, go figure) and put it on, my reaction was that of "Hmm...uhhhh.. no." (And of course a few other utterances escaped my lips as well that need not be mentioned hehe) Since we're heading to Scarborough next month, I thought I would rummage my closet for something to throw together some sort of Scotch/Highland outfit. The red plaid I had several yards of, and, it had been collecting dust for about a year or so on the shelf. Then, I found the burgundy suede-cloth that I had been saving. At first, I thought the two fabrics would go nicely...then I started to wonder half-way through the process. When it was done, as I said before, it just didn't work - at all. Ah well, it was only three days I wasted! *L*

Then, just before I got totally frustrated this afternoon, I went through some of my other costumes that I had finished in my closet in hopes that I could mix and match with something else. I was in luck! I had a black bodice/corset that I wore to MDRF two years back, but there was no skirt that went with it anymore. (They were ugly so I think I stuck them in storage...or the trash *shrug*) This worked out perfectly: I would wear the new plaid skirt with my old black-velvet corset along with a sash and long leather belt. I'm only glad I figured something out soon because I really don't have the time to start something else! Although, I will need to make two minor things to go with it, but those I can do quickly. :-)

We just took some pics of the "new" outfit today, which I will be adding either this weekend or next. So check back if you want to see them, it looks a whole  lot better now, and I'm pleased with the outcome.

Happy St. Paddy's, Day!!
